Quilt Community Mutual Assistance Pact (QCMAP)

At The Quilt’s 2020 Member Meeting in La Jolla, Merit described a Community Assistance Pact they’d created for their member institutions. Quilt members encouraged the adoption of a similar framework for Quilt member organizations to be used in times of emergency as well as to assist with temporary production needs. The current pandemic prompted the roll out of the Quilt Community Mutual Assistance Pact (QCMAP).

QCMAP PARTICIPATION

To participate in QCMAP, members sign the following light-weight MoU and email the signed document to The Quilt:

Once received, The Quilt also signs this document. Within the MoU, there is space in the appendix for participant organizations to list the resources they are willing to offer as best effort with no obligation. During this pandemic, for example, having prequalified personnel from peer organizations available to support/assist may help an organization shore up their business continuity plan. Once the MoU is executed, the resources listed in the appendix of the individual MoUs will be added to a Google sheet maintained by Quilt staff to track QCMAP resources. Participating organizations will receive read-only access to this resource list.

ADDITIONAL RESOURCES

On April 3rd, The Quilt community received a virtual introduction to the Information Technology Disaster Recovery Center (ITDRC) and the resources this phenomenal non-profit organization brings to local emergency situations. Here is a recording of that presentation:

Any organization/entity may take advantage of ITDRC resources by getting in touch with them directly.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Thank you to Merit for sharing their program documents and framework in order for The Quilt to adapt this program for our members. Please contact Jen Leasure if you have any questions on the new QCMAP.
