One of the goals of The Quilt is to provide advanced network services at a lower cost.  Toward this goal, the coalition of Quilt members and authorized Quilt Buyers purchase Commodity Internet Services (CIS) through several approved CIS vendors who participate in the program.

Regional Optical Network Project

In striving to serve The Quilt's member and community needs, through this project, The Quilt offers workshops on key operational topics of interest to members of the research and education community.

Peering Project

The goal of the Quilt Peering Project is to educate The Quilt membership about all facets of peering including the fundamentals of peering, various types of peering, implementation, routing strategies, financial models, etc..., and to function as a clearinghouse for information about current peering initiatives.
