The Keystone Initiative for Network Based Education and Research (KINBER) seeks candidates for an experienced Network Engineer for the Pennsylvania Research and Education Network (www.kinber.org). Employment is with The Pennsylvania State University, a charter member of KINBER. The successful candidate will participate in the deployment and operations of PennREN. This includes network engineering for optical DWDM, carrier and metro ethernet, IP (BGP, MPLS) routing, backbone transport/transit, peering, and node operations. Establish and implement deployment and operations standards for the network and develop management processes and procedures for fault, configuration, accounting, performance, and security. Perform Tier II and Tier III specialized support in coordination with PennREN outsourced providers and engage with customers in both specialized support and customer engineering. This includes troubleshooting, problem management, and incident response. Client Network Engineer
